Where do I start?

Don't panic and buy a year's worth of "survival" food without trying it first! The brands differ and you may not like it, so wait. The basic survival priorities are Shelter, Water, Fire, and Food. Let's start by preparing for a 3 day power outage. Assuming you still have shelter, you will need water. Get 6 gallons of water for every person in your house. That's what's recommended for 3 days. While you are at the store, buy 3 days worth of instant food that only needs hot water or heated up to prepare. Things like oatmeal, grits, instant rice, canned beans and meats. Fire is next. You'll need that to boil water to prepare the food. If you have a gas grill or stove that works when the power is out, then your half done. If not we have a couple of items in the store that will take care of that. If it's cold you will need heat. Depending on where you live, coats, blankets or sleeping bags may be enough. Modern fireplaces really don't put off much heat, but they will work in a pinch. A heater rated for inside use may be a better option. Depending on your needs, a small  Mr. Heater Buddy or a larger Blue Flame propane heater my be what you need.  Again, make sure it's rated for inside use. Thanks for visiting and reading my post. I hope you enjoy our store.
